To all my musical friends!
As Halloween approaches and Christmas decorations are starting to appear in shop windows, I thought it was time to update you on my whereabouts.
Firstly, I want to thank all of you who were able to come and support my Summer Concerts held here on the Costa Blanca in September. 'Simply classical’ was yet again a complete sells out and we were blessed with the weather! The concerts were held outside, and on the night that Pavarotti passed away we were threatened with terrible weather, yet miraculously protected throughout! The following night, my dear friend and great Tenor Miklos and I, dedicated our performances to the great legend, Pavarotti. The man that helped brings classical music to the masses. We celebrated his life with song, cheer and joy. His life will be treasured forever.
My summer cruises have been a delight. Not only have I explored the Grecian and Italian islands, learning more about their traditions, food and language, I have also met some very talented and interesting guest entertainers on board! People I should like to work with in the future. Who knows, I may invite them here to perform with me in my next show on the Costa Blanca!
If any of you have not visited the Grecian islands, I can highly recommend Santorini and Mikinos. Two of my favourites! Arriving from a ship would have to be the most romantic way! And of course leaving Venice with vibrant opera accompanying our exit would have to be my highlight of the summer! 'SWONDERFUL!'
I have just recently returned from Quebec (Canada). My ship departed Dover (England) 15th September. Our Port of calls; Le Havre (France), Cornwall (Falmouth), Dublin, Cork, New Found land, Halifax, New Jersey, Bar Harbour Maine and finally Quebec! AMAZING!
Visiting Cork meant the world to me, as my great grandfather came from there and I could learn a little about where my routes lay. Not forgetting that I also kissed the wall of Blarney castle! (Does this mean I now have the gift of the gab?) I have to admit, the transatlantic crossing was a rough ride, highly unexpected on such a large ship, but all I can recall are the giant waves from outside my window. For a moment I thought I would never see land again! On a brighter or should I say higher note, I hit the Empire State Building! As we docked in New Jersey for the day, I decided to pop into New York (as you do!) The view from the Empire State Building was breath taking and the bargains in Macys 'SMARVELLOUS!'
Sailing into Quebec by night was like re living a fairytale. We docked immediately in front of the castle and of course I explored this European-like city before my departure.
Now home for a couple of weeks until I set sail again to Boston, followed by Antigua. This Christmas I have been asked to be apart of the opening on the Queen Victoria (Cunard), we sail to Madeira and I will be accompanied by my fiancée.
All in all, this year has been action packed with voyages all around the globe, and I am truly sorry that I have been unable to put on more concerts here on the Costa Blanca.
*NOTE: Due to unforeseen circumstances, I will be withdrawing from appearing at the Benidorm Palace this November 18th. I would like to express my sincere apologies.
My goals for next year are more LIVE concerts, continuing to sail the seven seas, and most importantly write my fourth classical album with producer Craig Leon. www.craigleon.com (Any classical suggestions would be truly appreciated).
I want to wish you all Happy Halloween Until our next meeting.
Muchos Besos, Izzy x x x
